If you're up with the current technology it will be of interest to know that our developers work primarily using PHP as the scripting language, utilising MySQL as a database and running on an Apache web server on Linux. Our usual strategy is to leverage some of the excellent open source software that exists as a base 'platform', and customise these to your requirements. No sense re-inventing the wheel!
